"With the help of small nuclear power plants, we plan to make the development of the north of Yakutia economically rational. There are huge reserves of gold, rare earth metals, relevant in today's energy transition. Together with the Rosatom group, we are implementing a project to create a nuclear power plant, which will create a new mining cluster, whose core will become the Kyuchus deposit, " he said.

According to him, it is interesting to synchronize the work of government bodies. The Ministry of Natural Resources, already at the stage of the auction for this deposit, as a condition for the winner, laid the obligation to buy electricity from nuclear sources. "This is the road to the Baimskoye field, which is being implemented with one of the rare, perhaps unprecedented packages of government support measures, where a whole battery of floating nuclear power plants is created from scratch to supply this project, where a new power line is being created for the power transmission, and with the help of a concession mechanism, a road is being built, " the minister added.
