Putin speaks on development projects in Russia: roads, transport, the Arctic and Siberia

On August 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that large-scale projects on the development of the transport system and road network will stimulate the development of natural resources in a number of regions of the country,

He announced this during his speech at the congress of the United Russia party.

The head of state noted that the expansion of the network of traffic arteries will allow the development of the vast natural resources of the Arctic, the Urals, Siberia and the Far East.

“We shall launch large-scale development projects, use new instruments such as infrastructure loans, for example, increase the implementation of programs for the Far East, the Arctic, expand the development of support infrastructure, including the construction of the Moscow-Kazan-Yekaterinburg highway. I have already mentioned that in the future I suggest extending it to Tyumen,” said Vladimir Putin.

Besides, the President of Russia noted that one of the priority projects will be the Northern Latitudinal Railway, which will connect the Arctic, the Northern Urals, Siberia and the Angara-Yenisei region.

“By the way, now we already have all instruments and financial sources to start this work,” said Vladimir Putin.
