Motor ships delivered about 14 thousand tons of cargo to the most northern city of Russia

The world's most powerful icebreaker Arktika has completed the convoying of ships to the port of Pevek, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.

The "Inzhener Trubin" and "Yuri Arshenevsky" motor ships arrived accompanied by the nuclear-powered icebreaker and the diesel-electric icebreaker "Kapitan Dranitsyn" on the first day of the new year, and on January 8 the third motor ship "Polar King" entered the port.

According to the Portal of state bodies of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, the ships delivered 14 thousand tons of cargo - this is general cargo, construction and other materials for the implementation of large infrastructure projects, as well as industrial goods and products. Now at the port they are unloading the "Inzhener Trubin" and "Polar King" motor ships.

The lead universal nuclear icebreaker "Arktika" brought the motor ship "Polar King" to the port of Pevek.  This is the third ship that has escorted the world's most powerful nuclear icebreaker to the most northern city of Russia.  Polar King delivered equipment and materials for the key regional development project - Baimsky GOK.  It has four thousand tons of cargo and containers of individual entrepreneurs on its board, Governor Roman Kopin said on his Instagram page.

Two more ships "Lev Yashin" and "Yuri Arshenevsky" are bringing the "Arktika" and "Kapitan Dranitsyn" nuclear icebreakers to the Long Strait of the Chukchi Sea.

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation is working on the issue of the need to form a second fleet and the priority of cargo shipment by KAZ Minerals in the direction of the port of Pevek.
