A remote control center for coastal stations of Sabetta was put into test operation in Arkhangelsk

Additional automated workstations for operators have been installed in the control center

In December 2021, the Arkhangelsk branch of FSUE "Rosmorport" completed research and development (R&D) on the creation of the remote control center for Sabetta sea areas A1 and A2 GMDSS and NAVTEX coast stations. This was reported by the press service of the enterprise.

As a result, additional automated workstations for operators of the coastal stations of Sabetta of the corresponding sea areas A1 and A2 of the GMDSS and the NAVTEX service were installed in the control center.

Besides, secure satellite and terrestrial communication channels have been organized between the control centers of coastal stations in the seaports of Arkhangelsk and Sabetta.

One of the research and development results is the collected statistical data, which makes it possible to assess the organization of remote control of the coastal stations of Sabetta.

In particular, data were obtained on delays in various communication channels, the type and number of errors in the transmission of data packages, their effect on voice transmission and control of the equipment of Sabetta coastal stations.  The optimal settings of the equipment were identified, the quality and intelligibility of speech were assessed using various methods, as well as real communication sessions with ships located in the zones of operation of the coastal stations of Sabetta sea areas A1 and A2 of the GMDSS and the NAVTEX service directly from the communications control center in the seaport of Arkhangelsk.

The research results can be used in the future for the design and creation of remote regional and federal control centers for coastal GMDSS stations and NAVTEX services in various seaports of Russia.
