After the operation completion, the Vaygach nuclear-powered icebreaker will proceed to the roadstead of the Pevek port, where a caravan of three vessels (RZK Constanta, Turukhan, Grigory Shelikhov) will be formed for further convoying in the western direction. In the area of the Novosibirsk Islands, the "Kumpula", "Selenga", "Vladimir Rusanov", "Northern Project", "Mechanic Pustoshny" motor ships will join them.
Favorable ice conditions of previous years have distorted the idea of working in the water area of the Northern Sea Route in an easterly direction among some ship owners. At the same time, according to the Order of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation of October 13, 2015 N 298 On the approval of mandatory regulations in the seaport of Pevek, clause 8 states: “Navigation in the seaport is performed from July to October.
